  • Wizard Island

    Wizard Island
Wizard Island is a volcanic cinder cone which forms an island at the west end of Crater Lake. The top of the island reaches 7,000 feet (2,100 m) above sea level, and 750 feet (230 m) above the surface of the lake. The cone is capped by a volcanic crater about 500 feet (150 m) wide and 100 feet (30 m) deep. Access to Wizard Island is available only during the summer months with boat tours.

  • Boat Tour

    Boat Tour
The experience would be incomplete without a boat tour to Wizard Island, in the middle of the lake. To keep water clean the boats have electric motors. You may disembark at the island and hike up the "peak", and then come back with the next boat. You have to hike down and then up - there is no vehicle access. The hike is a great attraction in itself

  • Crater Lake National Park

    Crater Lake National Park
The centerpiece of Crater Lake National Park is, naturally, Crater Lake, but the park also encompasses miles of beautiful forests and mountain trails. There are campgrounds, and fishing is permitted.

  • Rim Drive

    Rim Drive
The 33-mile Rim Drive encircles Crater Lake, giving varied perspectives of the lake, rim, and surrounding terrain. Bicycling is welcomed here.

  • The Pinnacles

    The Pinnacles
Close by to Crater Lake is more evidence of its volcanic origins. The Pinnacles are "fossilized" volcanic steam vents.

  • Mount Scott

    Mount Scott
The highest point in the Park is Mount Scott at 8,900 feet (2,700 m). Getting there requires a fairly steep 2.5-mile (4 km) hike from the Rim Drive trailhead. On a clear day visibility from the summit exceeds 100 miles (160 km), and one can, in a single view, take in the entire caldera.
